The Nutcracker New Haven Theatre reviews
India Arie & John Legend, AMAZING!!!
"31/2 hours for a night where music holds you in a warm embrace and reaches out, go experience The Nutcracker and India Arie. The Nutcracker then took the stage to make an already satisfied crowd overflow with feelings of exhilaration. India opened up with the ease, and grace of a seasoned songstress; weaving intoxicating melodies with profound lyrics to leave the body, mind, and soul filled to the brim. His continuous, and I mean continuous journey through an amazing portfolio of timeless, arresting music, was nothing short of sheer musical magic. Thank you India and The Nutcracker. We were the very fortunate beneficiaries of sincere and pure gifts of music and love, I'm still walking on air. He came to give, and give he did. A truly legendary night."
A Head Full of Dreams came true for me!!!
"The perfect set was chosen by The Nutcracker for this concert, creating a great experience for all concert-goers with a perfect mix of old and new music. Music from the old days pleased die-hard fans like me, while casual fans got what they needed from the newer albums and popular songs. The band truly made the show an experience with fireworks, pyro, and more, creating a perfect ambiance (despite the drunk lady next to me).
This was a really expensive concert for a broke college student, costing me 2.5 weeks of pay for the whole experience. However, it was so worth it, and I'd recommend it for any The Nutcracker fan."
Awesome show but room for improvement
"The Nutcracker musicians are pure genius and everything about the music is incredible. I was a bit disappointed in the vocals, however. Maynard was trying to put Danny, Justin and Adam in the forefront, but his vocals are an essential part of what makes The Nutcracker great and they were definitely subdued. The vocals being consciously made a lesser part of the music was due to the mixing. If all four variables are equal, The Nutcracker equation only works. Don't do this in the future. Technically perfect, I will be there next time for further analysis."
